Thought of this awhile ago...it supposedly explains magic from anime/manga, please tell me if you see a flaw in it.


There are two types of worlds, the "spiritual" world and the physical world.

The purest form of energy in each world is the soul.

The Soul is the Mind, Fused to the body.

The body is the nothing more than a shell that the the Soul is attached to.

The Soul is attached to the body by means of a Seal.

If the Seal were to dissapear by the death of the physical body or other means, the Soul would be released from the body, and "death" would occure.

The Seal restricts the powers of the Soul wile it can remain in the physical world.

The Seal is passes down to the children at birth and the Soul is created within them as well.

By chance, the Seal may "fragment" at birth and become "imperfect" causing some of the Souls power to be released.

Power of the Soul may fuse with the body to allow a large amount of powers to be used.

Even with this the Seal may correct it's self within the next birth, causing powers to skip a generation.

During the life of a person the Soul may degrade by means of any type of stress, physical trama, or few other means.

The use of Soul may degrade the Seal, thus allowing more energy to escape, and strengthening the user.

In some cases, the Seal may degrade to nothing, either by means of using too much power, This usually end with "death", and in some cases, a coma.

In some cases the soul may merge, or adapt to the body more than normal, depending on the amount, the life span of the normal human can be expanded dramatically, although this sometimes may come with a consequence.

In some cases, the Seal may completely degrade from the use of power, but the Soul may have merged enough to the users body to allow it to remain, in this event the user may also gain an extended life, along with a large amount of power.

The power of the soul can be used in two ways.

With little degration of the Seal, the power can be amplified with the use of certain Seals and runes.

With large amounts of degration, the power can be used directly without the assistance of Seals and other methods, though the power would be wasted dramatically.

The Soul MUST be connected with the magic being used, most commonly by direct contact with the body, but in some cases "extensions" may be used.

With the "death" of the body the Soul is released.

In this occurrence, the Soul most commonly goes to the "spiritual" world.

In some cases the Soul may remain in the physical world with out a body to sustain it, this however requires massive amounts of energy, or the soul will soon either truly die, or go mad in the process.

The Soul cannot be seen or heard from the physical world, unless by special means, or ability.

Because of the massive amount of power needed to keep a Soul in the physical world, the Soul may not use powers and interfere with the physical world, the most it could do is move simple objects around, or in some cases the soul may allow it's self to be seen, or herd.

Although the Soul is the Purest form of energy, it is limited.

The Soul can be overused, and the destruction of either the body or the Seal will result.

A soul can be killed, nothing lives forever.
